My mom has a Mr. Coffee NLX5 4-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker, which we all love!
I made the mistake of buying this model instead. The flip up top causes water and condensation to accumulate inside the top. And, trying to re-insert the carafe back cannot be accomplished, unless you flip the top up -- which you cannot do if it still making coffee.

I just got one of these and the box clearly says it makes 4 five-ounce cups of coffee. Not sure when a cup became five ounces. I guess Mr. Coffee decided that 8 ounces is no longer considered a cup, and this allows them to state on the box that it makes four cups. Anyway, you're getting a total of 20 ounces and that nicely fills my coffee thermos every morning as I leave for work. On weekends I drink the same amount, which is two eight-ounce cups, plus a few extra drops for warming it up. If you're expecting four eight-ounce cups look elsewhere.Customer Review: What's Not to Like?

I've had this little coffeemaker for several months now and I just love it.
From the reviews I've read, people are either nit-picking (flip-up top, spillage when filling with water) or they happened to get a lemon, which can happen with anything. The pouring problem is easily remedied by using a little common sense and pouring from something with a spout: i.e. a 2-cup measuring cup. Voila! No mess. If the product just doesn't work, send it back and get a replacement. This is a great little coffeemaker at a great price.

This little pot is perfect for 2-4 cups. I tried two other brands of pots and was not happy with them, the Krups looked like a thermal carafe but was only stainless looking, and you can't see inside the pot as to when it is done or how much is left, tried Hamilton Beach, not hot enough. Love this little pot! Don't even bother with the other brands just get this one first.
